The City of Hamilton has announced a major property acquisition and a huge boost to the neighbourhood around the Pan Am Stadium.
It is buying close to 10 acres of land on which it will build new outdoor recreational facilities, in addition to the planned recreation and seniors centre.
The total project value is said to be 25 million dollars.
The area will include sports fields, playgrounds and greenspace. This new sports park will also replace the former Brian Timmis Stadium.
