A former Hamilton football player has had his sentencing hearing in Detroit on gambling charges postponed for the eighth time in three years.
35-year-old Adam Cuomo was convicted for his part in a points shaving scheme involving basketball players at the University of Toledo and a Detroit gambler.
Cuomo pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy as part of a plea bargain for his testimony.
His sentencing has been put off until March because the other defendants in the case are still being tried.
Cuomo was a star running back for Cathedral High School in the late 90’s before playing football at the University of Toledo.
