Premier Wynne and the Liberals are uncorking as $75 million plan for Niagara’s wine industry including a special wine secretariat to help them with technology and new business. I wonder how you get that government gig?
She also announced they will loosen Ontario’s archaic liquor laws to allow the sale of VQA wines, “in a socially responsible way.”
Wait a second, can you hear the wheels of the big red Liberal Cadillac squealing as the they make a quick turn to the RIGHT!
What’s with this, making alcohol more accessible to the public?
Is Premier Wynne starting to sound like Tim Hudak? What will her union friends say?
Is there an election coming?
Wait, before you get too excited, no it’s not an election but a by-election in Niagara that must be held by March.
Well that explains it all…
I am a huge supporter of the Ontario wine industry and applaud their tenacity, but I find it very odd that the same paternal government that has been fighting any breaking of the LCBO monopoly on distribution for every reason from under age selling to morality, has no problem with the logistics of selling at a farmers market.
And your questioning selling beer at a corner store that is licensed to sell smokes? And is it fair to craft brewers?
Sorry unless you have some wine and an election of some sort or a gas plant that needs cancelling, don’t even ask.
I’m Scott Thompson.
