A guilty plea has been entered by a man accused of murdering his friend on the Red Hill Valley Parkway in 2011.
Drew Reid has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second degree murder, changing his previous plea from not guilty.
It comes just a week before his month-long trial was about to begin in the stabbing death of 21 year old Dustin Padvaiskas, whose body was found lying on the grassy median of the Red Hill during morning rush hour.
Reid, who was 18 at the time of the murder, was arrested two days later.
A report on Reid’s mental condition is expected to be finished prior to June 27th when sentencing submissions are scheduled to be heard.
