NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says if she’s elected premier on June 12th, her government will move to protect childcare spaces and make them more affordable for working parents.
During a stop late Sunday morning at Hamilton’s Pier 4 Park, Horvath said families are telling her that there are fewer and fewer affordable childcare spaces in their communities.
She vows to commit $100-million to protect licensed childcare centres and make prices more affordable, adding that annual funding will keep pace with inflation.
After beginning her day in Hamilton, Horwath was to head to Thunder Bay in the afternoon.
Premier Kathleen Wynne was in Mississauga Sunday while PC Leader Tim Hudak was campaigning in Toronto.
