I was a candidate in a few elections a while ago and I’ve covered quite a few as a journalist, and I can tell you, waging a political campaign is hard work.
It’s difficult to raise money and marshall campaign volunteers and most importantly, getting your message to the voters.
And even if you accomplish all of that, there’s no guarantee that you’ll win.
Which is why I wonder what kind of brain cramp that two Liberal candidates experienced that would allow them to post sexually inappropriate posts on their Facebook pages during a Provincial election.
In case these guys hadn’t noticed, this is an important election for Ontario and both of these candidates are trying to unseat incumbents.
Did they not think that posting idiotic pictures on Facebook would be noticed by their opponents ?
Did they not think that posts that demean women are inappropriate anytime ?
Did they not think at all ?
You want to be a comedian ?
Then go to Yuk Yuk’s.
Both candidates have removed the posts and apologized , but, as the old saying goes, you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.
Voters will judge political candidates on their integrity and character , two assets that seem to be in short supply in these two !
