Halton Regional Police are celebrating the success of their annual Prescription Drug Drop-off Day.
Last weekend, the service says residents turned in 127 kilograms of unused or expired prescription drugs at the six advertised locations. That is a slight increase over last year’s totals.
The prescription drugs seized included Oxycodone, Tylenol 2′s and 3′s, Hydromorphone Liquid and Tablets, Codeine, Ritalin and Steroids.
Police add that the drop-off removes any opportunity of the potentially dangerous drugs being used for other than their intended purpose.
