Prank forces Ancaster HS “hold & secure”

Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML | Hamilton News

The cause of a “hold and secure” order during the Ancaster High School graduation ceremony was apparently a Word Cup prank gone wrong.

Students, staff and family attending the ceremony were told not to leave the building after a report of a teen on the roof with a weapon.

It turned out to be a false alarm and the “hold and secure” order for the 600 in attendance turned out to be very short.

Staff Sergeant Marty Schulenberg says officers found no one on the roof when they got there, adding it was likely someone trying to hang a flag connected to the Brazilian World Cup.
