A Hamilton man has admitted to slashing the throat of a sex trade worker two years ago in pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
27 year old Matthew Johnson was originally charged with attempted murder in the attack that happened at about 3 o’clock in the morning on July 4, 2012.
In the agreed statement of facts, Johnson says he changed his mind about buying her services and a verbal argument escalated.
Court was told the woman had a large gash to her neck from a knife wound straight across her throat that medics described as “a partial decapitation.”
Johnson will be sentenced September 5.
