A Vancouver artist has designed a dead zone café for those looking to unplug from the rest of the world.
The Faraday Café has an 8 x 16 foot cage made of fine wire mesh fencing with two picnic tables inside.
The wire mesh prevents any type of cell phone or internet signal from penetrating the room.
Just close the door and your device is rendered useless disconnecting you from the outside world.
Unless of course you want to revert to the old fashioned face to face method of communication, that’s what the picnic table is for.
“You can come for a coffee, you can hang out in a cage, have a chat with people, put your phone away, and not have to worry about it buzzing or making any noises while you’re here,”
said the designer.
Or, of course, you could simply do what most would do if they wanted to disconnect from the internet?
You could simply shut off your phone!
What, did I just say something dirty?
I’m Scott Thompson.
