Pedestrian killed by GO Train in Oakville

A man is dead after being struck by a GO Train in Oakville.

Halton Regional Police say the train was en route from Niagara Falls to Union Station just after 10:15 Friday night when a pedestrian entered the crossing at Fourth
Line despite the downed and illuminated crossing barrier arms.

The 40-year old man was struck by the locomotive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name┬áhasn’t been released.

None of the 47 passengers on the train was injured.

Rail traffic was delayed for more than an hour while police investigated.
