A touching surprise for a seven-year old Ancaster girl, during what was for her, the latest in a long series of visits to McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Avery Cianciolo will be jetting off to Orlando for six days in November, presented with her Disney dream by the Sunshine Foundation of Canada.
She is most excited about staying in a “princess room” at one of the Disney resorts, and meeting her favourite characters including Cinderella and Elsa and Anna from “Frozen”. The youngster adds that she “can’t wait to go”.
Avery’s doctor says it’s her reward for being “very brave” while living with hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy.
Her mother, Dawn, adds that she’s been through a lot including 15 surgeries during her seven years, five of them in the past year.
Avery was presented with the surprise while visiting the G2 Clinic at McMaster Children’s Hospital on Tuesday morning. She leaves for Walt Disney World in exactly four months.
