A much anticipated meeting about public transit between city officials and the transportation minister has now been set.
The mayor’s office confirms it will be held July 25th.
It follows the release of yesterday’s budget that includes 15-billion dollars in transit funding for Hamilton and the GTA.
But the document doesn’t offer any specifics and doesn’t say if the provenience will fund LRT or if the system will be partially or fully funded.
The city’s Rapid Ready transit plan puts the cost of LRT and 800 million dollars and council has asked that it be fully funded by Queens Park.
