Dellen Millard and Mark Smich will head straight to trial for the murder of Ancaster’s Tim Bosma.
The Attorney General’s office has signed off on the request from the Crown for a direct indictment.
That allows a case to skip the preliminary hearing in which a judge can decide if the charges are warranted.
A trial could begin as early as next year, but the defence could request more time to prepare.
Both Millard and Smich are scheduled to appear by video before the Superior Court of Justice in Hamilton on Friday.
Christina Noudga–described as Millard’s girlfriend– was charged as an accessory to murder after the fact, will not be involved in this part of the case.
Three Crown Attorneys have been assigned to prosecute.
This action only covers the charges for the murder of Tim Bosma and not the deaths of Millard’s father and former girlfriend Laura Babcock.
