The Hamilton Tiger-Cats continued their run of futility in Calgary dropping a defensive battle 10-7 to the Stampeders.
The Tiger-Cats opened the scoring on the first play of the game, Justin Medlock sending a booming kick-off for a single, and would add to it from Medlock again knocking a 42 yard field goal, only his second of the season.
It took until seven minutes into the second quarter for someone to finally find the end zone, Brad Sinopoli with an electrifying 26 yard run to put the Stamps up 7-4 which is how it stayed until the half.
The teams would continue to be deadlocked until twelve minutes into the third quarter when Justin Medlock connected on his second field goal of the game this one from 29 yards.
It would take almost a full fifteen minutes of play for another point scoring play as Rene Paredes hit his first field goal of the game from 39 yards out.
The game would continue to search for scoring and with just over two minutes left the Tiger-Cats had a chance to square the game with a 29 yard field goal attempt but Luke Tasker bobbled the snap and was sacked in the backfield to seal the 0-3 start for the Cats.
The Tiger-Cats will be back in action next Saturday when they open their home schedule at Ron Joyce Stadium against Henry Burris and the expansion Ottawa Redblacks.
Kickoff will be at 7pm pregame show begins on 900chml at 6pm.
