Minister of Public Safety, Steven Blaney was in Hamilton today to announce a major development in the Domotor human trafficking case.
Twenty members of what has been called the largest human trafficking ring in the country’s history, are being deported back to Hungary.
The Domotor-Kolompar criminal organization brought as many as 19 victims from Hungary to the Hamilton area, forced them to work against their will from dawn to dusk and held them in basements, feeding them just food scraps.
Only two of those convicted will not be deported.
The kingpin of the human trafficking ring, Ferenc Domotor, was sentenced to nine years in prison in the spring of 2012.
