Teen ends Lake Erie bid

Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML

Annaleise Carr has ended her marathon swim across Lake Erie a little early.

After consulting with her coach and officials, the 16-year old ended her swim at 4 Saturday  morning at Long Point, a few hours short of Port Dover where she had
initially planned to arrive later in the morning.

Team spokesman Aaron Gautreau says the swim was still a great success as Carr raised around $130,000 for Camp Trillium, a childhood cancer support centre.

Two years ago, Carr swam across Lake Ontario at the age of 14, becoming the youngest person known to have ever accomplished the feat.
