Dan should remain “the man”

Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML

Now that’s how you make a good first impression.

Dan LeFevour has officially arrived after leading the Ticats to their first win of the season on Saturday, as Hamilton beat Ottawa 33-23 at McMaster.

We’ve only been able to see little flashes of what LeFevour can do, as he’s been called upon in short yardage situations and mop up duty only during his two plus seasons in the CFL.

But Saturday night at Ron Joyce Stadium, big Dan delivered the goods, throwing for 361 yards and running for 109.

His zone read decisions were good, he connected with his receivers early and often, and he kept the REDBLACKS defense on its heels for most of the night.

Two early touchdowns by Brandon Banks and CJ Gable also helped LeFevour settle down in the early going, relieving some of the natural pressure that a young pivot will face in his first pro start.

So now the question is, if Zach Collaros is healthy enough to play, do you start him this Thursday night against Winnipeg?

Should a player lose his starting gig to injury?

In this case, I think the Cats should stick with the hot hand and ride the LeFevour bandwagon against the Bombers.
