The plans for what could be the second tallest building in Hamilton are out.
The developer is hoping to break ground on the 80 million dollar condominium tower next spring.
The project–called The Connolly — has been controversial because it’s on the historic James Street Baptist Church site
and the new plans unveiled last night show the front facade of the church incorporated into the design.
The name pays tribute to Joseph Connolly–the architect of the original church.
If it goes ahead, it would become the second tallest building in Hamilton, second to only Landmark Place.
It would have 30 storeys compared to Landmark’s 43.
Durand Neighbourhood Association President Janice Brown is still concerned over
the building’s height, and the parking situation.
