Burlington working to rebound from flooding

Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML

Burlington residents are continuing to regroup after flash flooding devastated over 15 hundred homes in the area.

The Burlington City Council will be requesting provincial help through the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program at a special meeting this Thursday.

MPP Eleanor McMahon says should the funding be approved, residents will have their say on how it is spent.

A fundraising campaign has also been launched through the United Way, in hopes that the province will provide the city with two dollars for every one dollar that is raised in the community.
