Burlington councillors asking for flood help

Burlington City Council is holding a special meeting this morning.

It’s after more than 15-hundred homes in the city suffered flood damage during a severe thunderstorm on Civic Day.

Mayor Rick Goldring says they’re asking for provincial help through the Ontario Disaster Relief Assistance Program.

A fundraising campaign has also been launched with the help of the local United Way, in the hope the province will provide the city with two dollars for every one dollar that is raised in the community.
