The City of Hamilton is keeping a wary eye on a downtown building that is being shored up because the facade is in danger of crumbling.
The building houses a store front law office at 71 Main Street East near John.
A complaint to the city in July about the state of the brick facade prompted the first inspection and the building’s owner has made efforts to support the structure, but he’s got about a month to make permanent repairs.
Hamilton’s building inspection department is insisting the owner hire a professional engineer to make sure the work is done correctly and safely. (Hamilton Spectator)
