On Line Threats After the Clarke Murder

The dark side of social media is turning up in on line threats of retaliation after Monday’s murder of a 14 year old Central Hamilton boy.

Jesse Clark was stabbed to death Monday night and an 18 year old from the same neighbourhood has been charged.

The response has been a mix of grief and anger and both have been expressed in posts online.

Some are even calling for some vigilante justice with promises of revenge against the accused.

Hamilton police say they are aware of the threats and are following up on them.

Staff Sergeant Matt Kavanaugh says it’s best to let police handle the matter adding revenge only gets people in trouble.

18 year old Brodie Nicholls has been charged with second degree murder in the case and will be back in court on September 2nd. (Hamilton Spectator)
