The hitchhiking robot known as HitchBOT has officially ended its journey across the country — and it’s done so in one piece.
HitchBOT created in partnership with researchers at McMaster University has arrived in Victoria after leaving Halifax late last month.
It thumbed rides from 18 strangers across more than six-thousand kilometres.
Co-creator David Smith says some fans see the fact that HitchBOT made the trip in once piece as a reason to be proud Canadians.
It has been invited to be a V-I-P guest at a tech conference in California’s Silicon Valley next month.
