Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML

For the second time – an American fast food giant wants to join forces with Tim Horton’s.

This time it’s Burger King.

The two companies have announced they’re in talks to form a new company that would be based in Canada -  to become the world’s third-largest fast food restaurant company.

Tim’s and Burger King would operating as separate brands but the new firm would have more than 18-thousand outlets in 100 countries.

In 1995, Wendy’s acquired Tim’s, which was fully spun off 11 years later as a separate company.
