Lancaster gets a loaner engine

Hamilton, ON, Canada / AM900 CHML

Hamilton’s Lancaster Bomber is being worked on after some engine trouble.

The Brits are coming to the rescue while our Lancaster is in the U-K on an air show tour reuniting the only two of their kind that can still fly.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum says British Lancaster fans have come up with not one, but two, loaner engines.

Some Brits have even come up with money to help out.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight group has an engine that can fly and that’s the one that will be put into our plane.

A test flight is to happen Tuesday, and if all goes well, the Lancaster will resume it’s air show schedule Wednesday.
