Hamilton’s network of bike lanes is about to expand.
Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca has announced 295-thousand dollars will be spent over the next two years to create a new cycling route in our city.
The 2.3 kilometre route along Bay Street will include painted bicycle lanes, physically separated bike lanes and a roadside bike path.
Mayor Fred Eisenberger says the route will stretch from the bottom of the escarpment, through downtown and towards the waterfront.
He says it will connect cyclists to the HSR, GO Transit and the future LRT line.
