Residents in Chateauguay, Quebec are in shock after learning that Karla Homolka has reportedly been living there for at least two years.
Global News says the convicted killer has some of her three children attending a school in the community southwest of Montreal.
Neither the school board nor local police have confirmed the reports, although the school’s principal has sent home a letter reassuring parents their children are safe.
But some parents are ready to pull their kids out of school and are outraged that they were kept in the dark.
Homolka and ex-husband Paul Bernardo were convicted of raping and murdering Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy in the early 1990’s.
Bernardo was declared a dangerous offender and sentenced to life in prison.
Homolka struck a deal with prosecutors in 1993 and served 12 years in prison for manslaughter.
The fact Homolka had moved back to Quebec with her husband, Thierry Bordelais, was confirmed in October 2014 by her older sister during testimony at Luka Rocco Magnotta’s high profile murder trial.
