There seems to be a double standard in the Wynne Liberal government when it comes to offensive behaviour at the Legislative Assembly.
A couple a weeks ago she demanded the head of a PC MPP who made in appropriate comments, but she sees nothing wrong with her minister saying “peeing all over the map”.
That is what Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli said, in the legislature, about provincial NDP leader Andrea Horwath when referring to her stand on energy his policy.
Of course, this is unacceptable behaviour, but to me there are 2 bigger issues.
#1 The energy minister still insists he didn’t say “peeing all over the map” to Horwath, despite there being clear audio and video evidence that is what he said.
#2 the official transcript of the sitting has the word removed and replaced with something different than the audio or video recordings reveal.
Clearly we have a minister, who at the very least fails to understand, evidence shows he is changing his tune and refuses to admit it even when caught.
We also have an official transcript, which clearly isn’t, as it can be altered depending on the party in power and be used later to defend.
Whatever your stand is, it certainly isn’t being truthful and raises questions about what else the energy minister may be lying about.
Especially with the Liberals highly contentious electricity file.
Time to change this light bulb!
