Hamilton police have dismissed an allegation of a hate crime in Westdale as unfounded.
The investigation followed a report of incidents from six McMaster University female students who are Muslim.
The father of one of the students suggested the women moved out of the house they were renting after a series of alarming incidents, including a knife being stuck into a wall.
Hamilton police’s Hate Crime Unit investigated a reported break-and-enter that took place at the home on December 2.
Although they aren’t saying anything specific, police have issued a news release saying an investigation has determined the crime was unfounded.
