Hamilton’s Supercrawl music festival will continue the push to support Syrian newcomers in the city with a special show.
The Welcome to Hamilton benefit will bring together the band the National with local favourites, Max Kerman of the Arkells and Terra Lightfoot among many others.
The National’s Manager Brandon Reid, a Hamilton resident developed the idea, keeping in mind that nearly 12 hundred Syrians were being resettled in the area, more than half of which are children.
Proceeds will go to fund music, art and recreation programs for newcomer youth and will be managed by Wesley Urban Ministries.
The event will take place Friday June 3rd at New Vision United Church in Hamilton.
Tickets are 100 dollars each and go on sale May 13th through Ticketfly.com as well as Dr. Disc, Revolution Records and Picks & Sticks Music.
