A new report from Canada Mortgage and Housing suggests the average price of a home in Hamilton could top half-a-million dollars by 2017.
The report says existing home sales in the Hamilton CMA, which includes Burlington and Grimsby, will continue their upward trend in 2016.
It predicts the average home price will reach as high as 487-thousand dollars this year and could jump to as much as 510-thousand in 2017.
The report says housing starts in Hamilton will rebound this year after a steep decline in 2015.
It projects total housing starts will be between 25 and 29-hundred this year.
