Police say two children have been brought to Hamilton’s McMaster Children’s hospital after a tanker truck collided with a school bus in Halton Hills.
The incident took place just after 8 o’clock this morning at Sixth Line and Steeles Avenue.
Police say it appears the tanker truck rear-ended the bus.
Photographs from the scene show the back of the school bus partially caved in and damage to the front end of the tanker truck.
Police says the truck was carrying home-heating fuel, but there doesn’t appear to have been a spill.
Peel Region paramedics say the two of the children brought to Hamilton have serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Halton Region paramedics say another five children and the bus driver have been taken to a hospital in Milton with “minor to moderate” injuries.
A collision reconstruction unit is investigating.
