The Ontario Lung Association is teaming up with the Hamilton Tiger Cats to create breathing breakthroughs one donation at a time.
The second annual Stair to Care event will take place October 2nd.
Participants will lace up and prepare to feel the burn as they climb the stairs at Tim Horton’s field.
This can be at your own pace, competitively, alone or on a team.
Adrian Tracy, defensive end with the Ti Cats has signed up as a team leader to share his own experience with asthma.
“I was diagnosed when I was young and they told me it would be induced in a few different ways, one being sports and physical activity.”
Tracy says education about how to manage his asthma and support from friends, family and community were the key to overcoming the diagnosis.
George Habib, President and CEO of the Ontario Lung association says 80 thousand kids struggle to breathe in the Hamilton area but research can help.
Stair to care hopes to bring out over 500 participants with a goal to raise 50 thousand dollars as a research grant for asthma.
