Hamilton Police are asking local residents to have the courage to stop impaired driving.
190 drivers have already been charged with impaired driving related offences in our city this year, including 33 incidents that ended in collisions.
Hamilton’s Terry Powless and his wife lost their son Ryan a year ago after he was hit head-on by a drunk driver who was going the wrong way on a highway.
Ryan was a designated driver when he was killed at 3:30am on May 16, while his passenger Brianne is still recovering.
The Hamilton Police Victim Services Branch says it will continue to assist people who need emotional and psychological support and connect them to local services.
This week is Victims and Survivors of Crime Week in Canada.
