Hamilton’s mayor says we will “probably” find more deficiencies with Tim Hortons Field.
Fred Eisenberger told CHML’s Bill Kelly Show, the stadium is “like any home” and “over time things crack.”
The comments come a couple of weeks after an overhead speaker fell on empty seats in the east stands.
But Eisenberger says the problems at Tim Hortons Field are “not terribly unusual” when compared to other projects of the same size and scope.
He adds “the stadium is sound” and they are “making the right accommodations to ensure that the experience in the field is what people expect it to be.”
Temporary speakers were brought in for last Friday’s Ticats preseason game after an inspection found issues with seven other speakers on the east side of the venue.
Some of those speakers were cracked and hanging from the same type of bracket as the one that fell.
