A city councillor is chiding the manager of a downtown Hamilton nightclub.
Jason Farr says it was disturbing to see the GM of Club 77 sit in silence Tuesday night at a community meeting on safety around the club.
Farr says Paul McDonald had a chance to engage with the community, but chose to instead collect information.
McDonald could not be reached for comment Wednesday morning, but told the Hamilton Spectator, “There’s nothing I can say.”
Residents at the meeting renewed a request to expropriate the club and turn it into a park.
City officials have discussed turning a municipal parking lot behind the club into a park by 2021-22.
Club 77 bouncer Vince Lofaro was shot and killed outside the club as he finished his shift on May 13.
