A celebration will be held this weekend in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
The public event is planned for 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon to mark the completion of efforts to restore the Hermitage Ruins.
The conservation authority will be running shuttles from its main offices on Mineral Springs Road.
The 460-thousand dollar rebuild involved a stone-by-stone dismantling and replacement, following the addition of internal steel supports.
Meantime, a man known to many as Mr. Ancaster will be honoured next month.
The bandshell at Fieldcote Memorial Park will be renamed on July 3 after community volunteer and local historian Jim Green, who spearheaded its construction.
Green passed away last year, taking with him a long record of volunteerism in Ancaster.
