An attempt to disrupt a weekend event aimed at bringing new investment dollars to Hamilton may not have had the desired effect.
The “Try Hamilton” investment road trip was at Tim Hortons Field Saturday afternoon when masked protestors tried to voice their concerns that more development would make the city’s affordable housing crisis worse.
One of the protestors grabbed a guest and Hamilton Police are still looking for that suspect.
Ward 4 councillor Sam Merulla says a new revenue stream would help with affordable housing–not hurt it.
Organizer Krysta Boyer says the protest didn’t work adding the feedback from those on the trip has been outstanding.
She says there will be more “Try Hamilton” road trips in the near future.
