Despite a devastating fire totalling $750,000 in damages, the Ancaster Sports Centre is still targeting a September launch.
The cause of Friday’s fire at the former Jewish Community Centre is not considered suspicious.
Most of the damage is to the outside back of the building on 1030 Lower Lions Club Rd., just off Wilson Street East.
The dome that houses two soccer fields is unsalvageable and needs to be replaced.
When completed, the plan includes a restaurant, wrap-around deck that will overlook the beach volleyball and rooms for workshops and children’s programs that have 3D printers and laptops.
