If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
But, does that also apply to chickens?
An Israeli biotechnology start up is developing a technology to create meat grown from chicken cells in a safe environment, outside the chicken.
Why? Factory farming is not good for you or the planet, they say.
Toxins, anti-biotic resistant bacteria, fecal contamination, even greenhouse gases all are a result of the production and transportation of livestock from factory farms.
Eliminate the actual animal you can produce a clean, ‘super meat’ as they call it.
They can also enhance the nutritional value of their meat creating superfoods rich in what we need.
The company is crowd funding to raise the money needed so everyone can have one of these devices in their home, restaurant or grocery store.
No need for a farm or feed, just the cell of the chicken breast you want to create.
So just like your veggies, you may soon be able to grow your own meat.
