How will Hamilton’s LRT project affect traffic in our city?
We’ll get some answers next month when a preliminary report is presented to city councillors.
LRT coordinator Paul Johnson says the August 8th meeting won’t delve into all the details or solutions.
The 1-billion dollar project will alter traffic patterns along the 11 kilometre route from McMaster University to Eastgate Square
Johnson says we need to understand where the traffic on Main and King Streets is going to go during the construction phase and once the LRT trains are running.
He says the final report, which will be issued this fall, will pinpoint potential bottlenecks.
Construction of Hamilton’s LRT is scheduled to begin in 2018 and be completed by 2024.
