The restoration of one of Hamilton’s oldest apartment buildings is underway.
The Pasadena, at 27 Bold Street, is being transformed into a three storey, 32 unit condominium with prices starting in the low $300,000’s.
More than two dozen tenants were displaced in February of 2014, when the 1914 heritage building was gutted by a boiler room fire.
Local developer Paven Bratch of Metro Partners expects to complete the restoration by early next year.
With the Downtown GO station nearby, he notes that there’s a strong interest from Toronto buyers as well as Hamilton’s growing community of professionals.
Elements to be preserved include the facade and a red oak spiral staircase that climbs to a skylight.
