After last weekend’s fatal fall at Albion Falls — a Hamilton councillor wants to see what can be done to make the area safer.
Tom Jackson says there have been too many incidents in the last few years where emergency service crews have had to rescue several children and adults.
The most recent fall happened this past Saturday when a man in his 50’s fell into the ravine while hiking with his family.
Jackson says he will meet with emergency responders, city parks staff and the conservation authority next month to see what action can be taken to make Albion Falls safer.
He says he’s trying to strike a balance between providing accessibility to the natural area without legislating behaviour.
