A retired City of Niagara Falls worker has pleaded guilty to theft and fraud charges related to a group play of Lotto 6-49.
The 67-year old man was part of a group that won $7 million three years ago.
He was responsible for collecting the money, buying and checking the numbers.
The accused pleaded guilty to getting his daughter to redeem the ticket instead of sharing it with other members of the group.
As a result of the OLG’s prize verification process, a swap of tickets was discovered and no money was improperly paid out.
Sentencing is set for Sept 8.
Charges against the 37-year old daughter are pending.
