The owner of a Hamilton Mountain hookah lounge is speaking out after a weekend shooting at his after hours business.
Hamilton Police were called to Mohawk Road East and Upper Ottawa Street about four Saturday morning.
Investigators say the victim, in his 30’s, was in stable condition and that the shooting was a targeted attack.
King’s Lounge is open seven days a week and does not serve alcohol.
Owner David Durwood says this shooting could have happened anywhere and hopes police catch the culprit soon.
He feels community concerns about the safety of his business are unwarranted.
He and the owner of the strip mall where the lounge is located are considering an open house to lift any preconceptions.
The hookah lounge offers a syrupy, often fruity, tobacco mix and is smoked from a communal hookah pipe.
