Halton Police will be out in force next week cracking down on problem drivers in so-called “high risk residential subdivisions”.
Officers involved in “Project Viator” will adopt a zero tolerance approach and will focus on the “Big 4” distracted and aggressive driving, impaired driving and lack of seatbelt use.
Analytics have been used to identify neighbourhoods at highest risk.
In Burlington, that is the Millcroft-area where police responded to 109 incidents over a 12 month period, including three traffic-related injuries and 44 damage-only collisions.
Millcroft is bounded by Dundas Street and Upper Middle Road and by Appleby Line and Walker’s line. “Project Viator” hits that subdivision next Wednesday.
