What is the deal with Winnipeg?
For the third time this CFL season, the Blue Bombers had to wait through another weather related delay.
Thunderstorms and lightning delayed the start of last night’s Ticats-Bombers game in the Peg.
The game was supposed to kick off at 8:30, but the wicked weather pushed it back to just after 11pm… a 2-and-a-half hour wait.
It was Winnipeg’s third weather delay this season.
The Bombers’ season opener at home against Montreal on June 24 was delayed for one hour because of lightning.
And last week, the Bombers’ game in Edmonton was delayed for about 30 minutes because of bad weather.
But kudos to the 17-thousand or so Bombers fans who stuck around.
The way the 3-and-3 Tiger-Cats played, the team and its fans wished the league had postponed the game altogether.
That was embarrassing, ugly, out of this world bad.
I don’t even want to talk about the game, let’s just forget it happened and move forward.
