Doesn’t sound like the LRT will create any waves on the Hamilton mountain.
Consultant Dennis Fletcher tells the Spectator the LRT’s impact on mountain roads is not seen as a “major” concern at this point.
Despite that, city consultants have promised to report back to council on the traffic impacts the LRT could have on routes like the Linc and Red Hill Valley Parkway.
On Monday, councillors had a chance to look at the latest LRT report, which suggests traffic changes would be “manageable” in the lower city once the trains are running.
LRT project coordinator Paul Johnson says some intersections along the LRT route will “need work” to manage potential slowdowns.
But he adds other intersections could actually see some improvements.
Public meetings on the traffic impacts and potential changes to HSR routes will be held next month.
