While the official report from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office on the deadly fire on Niagara Street in North Hamilton isn’t due for weeks, or even months, some information has been released.
Supervisor Lonnie Schubert says at this point in the investigation there is no reason to believe there was any criminal intent involved.
The fire in the home at 70 Niagara Street early Saturday morning killed a mother and her two children and then spread to the house next door.
Schubert tells the Spectator the Fire Marshall’s office is taking the lead in this investigation with help from Hamilton Police.
Work continues to determine the origin and cause and circumstances of the blaze.
Police are asking anyone with information about the fire to give them a call.
